2017 Perth Mint Gold Gilded Rooster 1 oz Silver Coin
This spectacular silver gilded edition celebrates the Year of the Rooster. Featuring 24-carat gilding, this is a very special release not to be missed.
Each coin is struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality.
The reverse of the coin depicts a rooster, gilded in 24-carat gold, a hen, and three chicks standing amongst bamboo foliage and flowers. The Chinese character for ‘rooster’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Rooster’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2017 year-date, and the monetary denomination are shown on each coin’s obverse.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 47,500 of the 2017 Year of the Rooster 1oz Silver Gilded Edition in individual packaging from a maximum mintage of 50,000.
Each coin is housed in a classic black and red display case and illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
The Year of the Rooster Gilded Edition can also be purchased in a capsule only with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The Australian Lunar Series II 1oz Coin Collection Box are still available for collectors of the complete twelve-coin set.
