• Obverse: The obverse face of 2015 Canadian SuperLeaf 1.5 oz Silver Coins includes a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. Designed in 2003 by Susanna Blunt, this is just the second design on a Canadian denomination that was created by a Canadian artist. It depicts the Queen without a crown on her head, the first time a monarch has featured on Canadian currency without the crown since King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions on this face of the coin read Elizabeth II at the top and 8 Dollars at the bottom. The entire background field is covered by radial lines for enhanced security.
• Reverse: On the reverse side of the 2015 Canadian SuperLeaf 1.5 oz Silver Coin is a depiction of sugar maple leaves. In this design from Stan Witten, the image features three maple leaves of different sizes and shapes all connected by their individual individuals to a singular stem at the base. The initials of SW are inscribed within the design field, while the outer rim of the coin includes inscriptions of Canada 2015 and Fine Silver 1 1/2 oz Argent Pur. The outer design rim also includes radial lines.
• History: The Royal Canadian Mint is the sovereign mint of Canada and was founded in 1907 with a dual purpose: refine gold and silver from the Yukon Territories and provide independent coining capacity for Canada.
