2019 Perth Mint Gold Gilded Pig 1 oz Silver Coin

The perfect gift or collectable for those born under the Chinese Lunar Pig, this 1oz silver coin highlights the loyal animal in stunning 24 carat gold. The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar Pig include 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007 and 2019. Those born under the sign of the pig tend to be honest, loyal, sincere and generous, with a calm temperament.

The reverse of the coin features a domesticated pig highlighted in pure gold, standing with her four little piglets. The Chinese character for ‘pig’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Pig’ appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 47,500 of the 2019 Year of the Pig 1oz Silver Gilded Edition individually from a maximum mintage of 50,000.

Each coin is housed in a classic black and red display case within a themed shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
