2013 Perth Mint Kookaburra 1 oz Silver Coin (With Capsule)

The design showcased on the reverse of 2013 Australian Kookaburra Silver Bullion Coins shows two juvenile kookaburras perched on a single tree branch. Below the birds, native flowers can be seen.

Kookaburras are indigenous to Australian and nearby New Guinea. They are large terrestrial tree kingfishers and are easily recognizable by their call which is typically described as sounding like loud human laughter.

Obverses of the new Kookaburra Silver Bullion Coins contain the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Obverse inscriptions include "Elizabeth II," "Australia" and the legal tender face value of the coin.
