On the obverse, the bar features an image of a Pony Express rider racing across the frontier on horseback. The rider dominates the left side of the design field, symbolizing the determination and speed required to deliver mail between the western territories and Missouri, where the Pony Express connected the western frontier with the eastern United States. The bar also includes stamped markings showing the weight, purity, metal content, and the SilverTowne mint mark.

The reverse side of the bar is intentionally left blank, a typical feature of cast silver bars. However, natural textures or lines may appear on the surface due to the cooling process when the molten silver settles in the mold.
