2026 Perth Mint Gold Gilded Horse 1 oz Silver Coin (with Box)
Featuring a beautifully gilded lunar horse in fine gold, the 2026 Year of the Horse coin is struck from 1oz of .9999 pure silver, creating a striking and collectible piece.
In Chinese legend, the Jade Emperor called upon all animals to participate in a great race to determine their order in the lunar zodiac. In its pursuit of the dragon for fifth place, the spirited horse surged forward with great determination. However, a snake concealed around its hoof caused the horse to recoil in fright just before the finish. Despite this unexpected setback, the horse secured seventh place, symbolizing resilience and perseverance.
The reverse design showcases a graceful mare galloping alongside her young foal, both adorned with flowing manes and set against a scenic backdrop of rolling grasslands and towering mountains. The horses are highlighted with 24-carat gold gilding. Also featured are the Chinese character for “Horse,” the inscription “HORSE 2026,” and The Perth Mint’s iconic “P” mintmark.
Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity and is housed in a classic display case with a transparent lid. The presentation is completed with an illustrated shipper featuring a horse. When combined with other Lunar Series III shippers, the packaging forms a diorama depicting the legendary Great Race of the zodiac animals.
