2026 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin
Commemorate 40 years of iconic American silver bullion with the 2026 1 oz Silver American Eagle $1 Coin (BU), the flagship silver bullion release of the United States Mint. Crafted from one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and fully backed by the U.S. government, this Brilliant Uncirculated coin honors a legacy that began in 1986—making the 2026 issue a milestone anniversary edition of the renowned Silver Eagle series.
The 2026 Silver Eagle continues to feature the updated reverse design first introduced in 2021. Selected through a nationwide U.S. Mint design competition in 2020, the artwork was chosen from 35 submissions. Artist Emily Damstra’s dynamic portrayal of a bald eagle descending with an oak branch captured the judges’ attention for its strength, motion, and modern symbolism. This bold image replaced the traditional heraldic eagle, ushering in a contemporary era for the series.
Beyond the standard bullion release, the Silver Eagle program also includes highly collectible proof coins with distinctive privy marks. Past editions have celebrated the U.S. military with Army, Navy, and Marine Corps privy marks, as well as innovative laser-engraved privy designs. These limited-issue variations add artistic flair and enhanced appeal for collectors while remaining true to the Silver Eagle’s historic roots.
