The obverse of the bar showcases a rat as seen from behind. It stands on its hind legs while holding an ancient, circular Chinese coin. Inscriptions featured on the obverse include the official PAMP logo, as well as the weight and purity of the bar. The symbol for the Chinese Imperial Mint appears on the back of the bar.
The reverse of the bar features the front of the rat standing up and facing West while holding an ancient Chinese coin. Inscriptions on the reverse include the Chinese characters meaning “The year of the rat is the harvest year” on the bar.
